A. Upcoming public hearings, meetings, and other events of interest (Information only, no action; see calendar of meetings, public hearings, and events of interest at end of this Agenda). 

9. Roundtable Conversation with UCLA Administrative Vice Chancellor Michael Beck, with Q&A. Note: this item is scheduled to be heard at 8:00 p.m., depending on arrival time of Vice Chancellor Beck. Topics may include: 

– Update on UCLA student housing projects under construction (5,200 new beds of student housing); 

– Student enrollment and growth projections for UCLA campus; 

– Update on plans for faculty housing on former Christian Science Church site (Hilgard/Lindbrook/Weyburn); 

– Plans for recently acquired Gayley Center, Oxy Building, and 924 Westwood (at Le Conte) in Westwood Village; 

– UCLA Nimoy Theater update (School of the Arts & Architecture and CAP-UCLA joint project at Crest Theater); 

– Hammer Museum construction and expansion update; 

– Long term development concepts and plans for usage of UCLA Lot 36/West campus (Wilshire/Veteran/Gayley); 

– Possible relocation of UCLA Fowler Museum and/or development of new performing arts venue on Lot 36; 

– UCLA leasing, acquisition, and long term development plans in Westwood, North Village, and south of Wilshire; 

– Possible future development of additional or “satellite” UCLA campuses to accommodate future growth; 

– Update on traffic counts, parking demand, Uber/Lyft/scooter/bicycle usage, and mobility trends at UCLA; 

– Update on Metro Purple Line Extension construction, and projected traffic impacts on UCLA staff; 

– Update on Metro Sepulveda Transit Corridor project, UCLA Campus Station, alignments, and P-3 option; 

– 2028 Olympic planning, UCLA Village and venue development, and projected transportation impacts; 

– Getty Fire impacts on UCLA and any other public safety issues;

A. Report on outcome from Board of Recreation and Parks Commissioners’ meeting of November 6, 2019 and update on proposal for Second Synthetic Soccer Field at Westwood Park – Sandy Brown 

12. New Business 

A. Kelly Music Building – Historic-Cultural Monument Status – Steve Sann: “Motion to support the unanimous vote by the Los Angeles Cultural Heritage Commission to support the Los Angeles Conservancy’s nomination of the 1930 Kelly Music Building (aka Alice’s Restaurant, Tanino Ristorante Building), designed by Master Architect Paul Revere Williams, and located at 1041-1043 Westwood Boulevard in Westwood Village, as a City of Los Angeles Historic-Cultural Monument, and to support the Commission’s recommendation that the Los Angeles City Council add this property to the City’s official list of Historic-Cultural Monuments.”

15. Motion to Adjourn 

In accordance with its Bylaws, the Westwood Community Council (WCC) shall provide an opportunity in open meetings for the public to address items of interest to the public that are within the subject matter and jurisdiction of the WCC. Individual testimony within the Public Comment period shall be limited to two (2) minutes per person and up to ten (10) minutes per subject. However, the WCC Chair has the discretion to modify the time allotted on each subject, to each speaker, and the number of speakers per subject. Items may be called in any order at the discretion of the WCC Chair. EVERY PERSON WISHING TO ADDRESS THE BOARD DURING THE MEETING MUST COMPLETE A SPEAKER’S CARD AND SUBMIT IT TO THE CHAIR OF THE COUNCIL. The agenda is posted for public review at the Westwood Branch Public Library, 1246 Glendon Avenue, Los Angeles, CA 90024, and at http://www.westwoodcommunitycouncil.org online. Belmont Village Westwood provides free covered self-parking in its underground garage, accessed from the driveway at 10475 Wilshire Boulevard, and also is accessible via public transportation by all bus lines serving Wilshire Boulevard. Belmont Village Westwood, including its Town Hall Community Room, is an ADA accessible facility. 3
